Chelsea Flower ShowWe have been involved in a number of projects where the slope of the garden or bank requires extreme lawn-mowing skills!

For gardens like these, we recommend the use of a specialised sedum matting. Sown and grown on a matting substrate, sedum matting is laid just like turf and secured in place with pegs. It is sustainably grown in the UK and sown with sixteen stunning varieties of sedum to combine drought tolerance with extended interest and colour throughout the growing season.

As the owner of two humans (Ruby and Stan Mills) I am dictating to them my thoughts on the recent work that Paul and his wonderful team completed i.e. lawns replaced, landscapers’ sleeper edging put in and drainage improved.

My garden doesn’t have easy access; the whole team, materials and equipment had to go through the conservatory and, might I add, done in such a way that no furniture or humans were hurt in the process! Everything was left as found. We are all so pleased with the results…..great lawns for me to chill on (those humans keep trying to get me to move – fat chance!) and a much improved area to enjoy in the coming months. Many thanks to a proficient, hard-working team, we’d have them back in a wag of a tail!

Kind regards (I am now going to lie down on my new lawns!)

Sedum matting York

The product we use is Lindum SedumPlus. It is a pure sedum mat, sustainably grown in the UK and sown with sixteen stunning varieties of sedum to combine drought tolerance with extended interest and colour throughout the growing season.

The ideal choice for steep banks and green roofs, it is drought tolerant and therefore needs only a shallow substrate layer. It is also suited to situations that need low growing plants and minimal maintenance.

The sixteen varieties of sedum offer a huge variety of colour and interest, as well as enhancing biodiversity. Colours range from green through to vibrant reds, oranges, purples and browns. The plants also offer many different leaf types and flowers, resulting in a blend of beautiful textures when planted together.

Minimum substrate depth is 30mm although depths of 50mm-75mm will allow for stronger and more attractive growth.

Lindum SedumPlus is grown in the Vale of York allowing for fresh harvest and rapid delivery from their field to your project.
